NUS Hospital

In the north of Sweden, the hospital Norrlands Universitetssjukhus (NUS) has installed heat pump-based heating and cooling systems provided by Energy Machines. The system reduces the energy consumption, the carbon footprint as well as operational costs. Rather than purchasing energy in the form of district heating, district cooling and electricity, NUS today is exclusively reliant on electricity to power the heat pumps. As heating and cooling is being produced within the facility, excess heat can be utilized and ultimately reduce the need for electricity, making the facility is increasingly self-sufficient and resourceful.
